My timing is fortuitous. I just found out about you 48 hours ago, searched for you on media (Substack!), subscribed to your newsletter just in time for your appearance! Looking forward to learning from you 😊
Briahna, first, I'd like to tell you that I watched Rising most recently exclusively because of your intelligence, the character that you exude, and your demeanor. A very unique set of attributes that made Rising special for awhile. Second, I think that focusing on the 'why' of things is an extremely worthwhile goal and may help get us outsiders to the heart of things affecting us, by maybe learning a mental frame that can serve to inform us in the future. Anything that can help us 'think' more efficiently will be very much appreciated. Along the lines of 'Teach a person to fish'.
I love this Brie!!! My advice is to put out whatever you want to put out. I think you have a fairly devoted group of supporters & we'll support you in whatever your endeavors are. Though I do think bringing back a callin style show is the # 1 ask.
This is my first time hearing of you, but people seem to have a lot of good things to say about you, so I'm hopping in for the ride! Excited to read your work 😁.
I’m looking forward to both learning and being annoyed by you. While I’ll never have the opportunity to hear you without curation, your principles seem authentic, not bought off. Just the kind of voice I want to keep me informed. Good luck
Why is there nothing like "Professional Courtesy" for doctors, on Substack. As a writer, there is no way I can pay for 100+ media outlets, all demanding payment and denying or limiting access. I would expect that from mainstream media, but from social media, too? I have to cover the news, like the rest of us, but how can I survive as a writer if all my sources demand payment. Let's work with Substack and make some changes that will benefit everyone.
Looking forward to hearing more of your analysis. While I have my disagreements with some of your takes (and that is common with many of the voices I engage with and respect), I think yours is a voice that should not be shut out of the discourse. You add a great perspective to the larger conversation. Never got to read your work at The Intercept, so I look forward to this.
Hope you’ll have a gander at my publication, New Outlook, where I write about politics, propaganda, and culture. https://stephenobisanya.substack.com. Would love to have you as a subscriber. Lots you’ll probably disagree with as well lol but I believe some things you might find eye-opening as well.
Keep up the great work. You and Kim Iversen on Rising were always my favorite firecrackers of commentators. Hope you both get to collaborate more often.
Good to see you here, Brie! Substack is where all the "cool kids" hang out... You know, the ones who can think critically and think for themselves. Peace!
I have loved you since you first put out Bad Faith with…oh Lord, I don’t remember his name now. Anyway, I am happy to see you here and look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Writing has always been an outlet for me, as well. It gives me the time for introspection and examination that is very self enriching. Always happy to see people embracing their inner dialog.

Briefly is an inspired name

You are by far one of the best debaters we have in politics. I'd love to see you debate more often. Your unapologetic courage is inspiring!!!! ♡

Love you, oh goddess of rationality and temperance. Thank you for all the work you do.

Love bad faith, look forward to briefly.
